9/11

Hello Everyone.

So today is the anniversary of 9/11, and I thought I would talk about it.

I personally didn't know anyone that passed away or went through this disaster. I can't imagine the pain and suffering others have gone through and I am sorry that you did.

I watched this video today. It has very compelling questions that I sometimes wonder.  Very first question it asks is "What would you do in the last hour of your life" Followed by "Where would you be?" "Who would remember you?" "What would it look like?".

After watching this video I have thought about it. What WOULD I do? It's a big question with many possibilities. If I was in a situation like 9/11, I would like to think I would help as much as I possibly could. On the other hand, I think I could freeze up.

I guess what I am saying is, is that I don't know what I would do. Anything is a possibility. Unknown.

As for the other questions, my ideal place to be would be with as many friends and family as I possibly could. I would want it to look like I had lived a good life for as however long it was. I wouldn't want people crying for me, I would want them to have fun. Heck, I can imagine having a karaoke party or sit and watch movies, have a picnic. After I had gone, it would be up to those who knew me whether they  want to remember me or not. I only really care for family and friends. I would want them to remember me, but won't hold any hard feelings if they didn't. For people, random strangers, I suppose it would be nice if they remember me, but I really wouldn't need it. It's not like I need or want them to. But again, it'd be up to them.

Anyways. Those are my thoughts.

To end this blog, I just want to thank all those who helped. The police officers, the firefighters, the volunteers, the dogs. Thank you.

To those who died, the loved ones, you will never be forgotten. I hope you all have found peace wherever you may have gone.

To the families and friends who lost someone, I am truly sorry. I only hope that maybe you can forgive the horrors of what others have done and find peace.

Until next time
~Bri

Spring Break

A poem I wrote a long while ago. Please do not steal it.

Soaking in the sun and

Practicing a song.
Requiring peace
Intellectually and spiritually
Not listening to anything but the breath of
Good air.

Breathing deeply and
Retaining the balance of
Everything the earth and universe offer, you
Attain the
Knowledge of yourself, earning the privilege of rest.

Shock and Thoughts

Hello everyone.

This summer I had an emotional shock. I met my biological father for the first time.

Now it was very brief, however that does not make it any less shocking. Growing up I knew I was adopted on my fathers side. He even waited until I was six to ask if I wanted to be (mom married him when I was 2-3ish), which I really appreciate to this day.

My Dad and I at my Graduation. I love you dad!
I have never really felt the urge to meet my biological father. Why would I? I already have an amazing dad that loves me no matter what. I have a family that cares about me. A life that is full of love. Why bother with someone that I had never met (that I can remember)?

I still don't have an answer and I don't expect I ever will. I never expected to ever meet him. So I was super shocked when I did.

I was at Monroe park, helping my boyfriends mom with the Fun For All program. I had sat down for a bit when a stranger came up to me. He called me by my name, I said hello, and then he gave me a rock. He then walked off. I sat for a moment, thinking. How did this guy know my name? The only stranger I could think of that would know my name would be my biological father. Naturally this freaked me out, so I got up and told Patrick (my bf), and stayed near him and people I knew. We then told Patrick's mom who went over to the stranger to see if it really was who I thought it was.

She came back over and confirmed that it was indeed him. At that point is where I had my emotional breakdown. As in full out crying. I had met the one person I never thought I would. I had said hello to him. I wasn't prepared or anything. Why did he have to present himself now?

I saw him at the park once more after that. He didn't come over to me again thankfully. I still don't know whether or not I am ready to actually sit down and really talk to him. I don't know if I ever will be. In a way I do, find out why he never bothered to care about me until I turned older. Ask questions about his family. That's another thing. It boggles my mind that I have this whole other family that may or may not know about me. If they do, do they even want to meet me?

Other than that, I really have no desire to meet him again. Like I said, why would I? I have everything I need already.

What do you guys think? Should I wait until I feel I am absolutely ready to speak with him, or wait until the next time he randomly comes to talk to me, or talk to him now?

Until next time!

Jobs

Hey all, been a couple months since I last posted. Not doing very well with updating more often am I? I shall just have to try harder! -Determined to be as determined as Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket-

Any who,  nothing much has been going on. I've gone to a temp agency in hope of finding a job. I would really like to get my life going for me, but seeing as everything resolves around the dreaded green thing we call cash, it's difficult without the job.

Now jobs in general....

There's one thing that especially annoys me to no end. Most jobs would like for a person to have a certain amount of time (be that years or months etc...) experience for them to hire you. For graduating high school students or people who aren't able to go to college for a certain job to learn those skills, it's hard. I mean how the hell can you get experience if no one will hire you in the first place? Seriously people, get your heads out of the clouds or wherever you are and realize this already. Not everyone has the same opportunities that some do. Wouldn't it just be better to hire someone with no experience now then one who is still learning about it, or even no one wanting to learn it at all? I mean I can understand jobs like being a doctor or a psychologist or a judge. But jobs like a receptionist or a hotel cleaner? Come on.

I'd say more on this, but I wouldn't know how to write it down. I'm a little new at this blogging thing. I'm more good at writing poems or imaginative stories. I shall get better though, just you all wait! :D

I will write more later on. For now (in the words of one of the greatest teachers ever), Be good kids (or adult if you are one), don't drink and drive, love your parents and never tell a lie!

Until next time!
